However, the implementation of the accommodations or modification did not unfold smoothly and effectively. This is because students had different needs, experiences, and status. For instance, it was especially difficult in dealing with the visually impaired, because people have different experiences in coping with the surrounding environment (Bradley, Louis, Daniel, 2002). There were some people, who could walk around without knocking over objects, while other needed assistance to walk around the room. I had to orient every student with the new environment. This was difficult, because at times you could not take students as a group. You had to deal with each student at a time for safety and effectiveness. The elements of the accommodation that were most effective include those that involved offering support to the students. For instance, it was easy to provide a walking cane for a student, and for the rest of the time he/she would not ask for any assistance while walking around. On the same, interacting with the students while teaching them was to some extent effective. The students were in groups according to their own specialties. For the visually impaired, all I needed to use was auditory cues and explicit language while giving instructions (Finn, Rotherham, Hokanson, 2001). Students found it easy to respond to the queries that I asked them, although I had to give them maximum time, since they needed additional time to read the information. Nevertheless, there were some aspects of the modification that were difficult to facilitate. This was because some aspects required a team that was not present at that moment. For instance, parents or care givers were not able to provide all the required materials to the students. At the same time, some activities had to be coordinated among the tutors, and being alone, it made it somehow difficult to deal with the students. I had to organize the class and offer physical support when students started coming in. To some extent, this has negatively affected the overall success of the lesson. For example, some lessons took a longer period of time than expected, because I was actually involved in organizing everything, including providing specialized materials required by the students (Rourke, 2002). The special needs of the students required full attention not only to one student, but to all. However, as a teacher, I had to find a way of dealing with these difficulties and ensure that t he objective of the lesson was achieved. During implementation of the modification, the level of students engagement and motivation was moderate. Modification or accommodations implies that students are exposed to the new environment, although they are expected to do what they normally do. For example, while teaching the visually impaired, the same methods used in other classes were still used. However, due to some difficulties experienced, such as lack of absolute support, the level of engagement was moderate. Communicating with the students through the use of the correct cues for the right group of students was not a major problem. The problem was related to the lack of the specialized materials to facilitate learning. However, this can be modified by ensuring that special consideration is given to the physically impaired and all the required materials are available when engaging them in any lesson (Petscher Proctor, 2007). This will help to improve the effectiveness in understanding, as well as making learning and teach ing easy. Modifications or accommodations implemented during the lesson were well suited for that particular purpose. For instance, instructions modification were meant to serve in response to their special needs. There is no way you could use auditory dues for the deaf and expect to have a success. Right instructions had to be used for the right group of students. Moreover, materials specific to the needs of the students were also meant to accommodate them in the learning environment. All these modifications could only take place if the environment was able to accommodate students. For instance, the classroom had to be arranged in a way that students had enough space to move around without knocking objects. It was also important to ensure that the environment did not have any flying objects. Conclusion In conclusion, it could not have been any better than to see students participating in the lesson. This was a sign that the modifications or accommodations used have indeed assisted the students during the lesson. Although there were a number of challenges, they did not hinder the objective of the assessment.

Every year, a random selection of applicants is granted the opportunity to apply for a visa through the U.S. State Departments Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) Program, or the Green Card Lottery. The program is open to applicants around the world, however, there are few conditions for entering. The lucky winners—50,000 of them—are given the chance to become permanent residents of the United States. Breaking Down the Numbers While its impossible to determine the exact odds of winning a chance at a diversity visa due to the number of factors involved, you can calculate a fair estimate by taking a close look at the numbers. For DV-2018, the Department of State received about 14.7 million qualified entries during the 34-day application period. (Note: 14.7 million is the number of qualified applicants. It does not include the number of applicants rejected due to ineligibility.) Of those 14.7 million qualified applications, approximately 116,000 were registered and notified to make an application for one of the 50,000 available diversity immigrant visas. That means that for DV-2018, approximately 0.79% of all qualified applicants received a notification to make an application and fewer than half of those actually received a diversity visa. Information on a statistical breakdown by country is available from the State Department. All qualified applicants have an equal chance of making it through the random selection process as long as the eligibility requirements are met and the application submitted is complete and accurate. â€Å"A Worn Path† by Eudora Welty is a compelling story of an elderly woman traveling a great distance to town to receive medicine for her ill grandson. A tale of love and devotion that pushes one towards his/her goal. Phoenix Jackson is a strong character despite her age and health issues. The unconditional love for her grandson helps her overcome all the obstacles and hardships along her journey to the city to retrieve her grandson’s medicine due to his lye poisoning. This leads us back to the family house where the brother has to tell his sister that her shoes are missing. They dont tell their parents because the mother is ill with a bad back and the father does not make enough to buy new shoes for her. So, they agree to share the bothers shoes until he can find his sisters shoes. The next day the sister wares her bothers shoes to school and once her school lets out she races back to give them to her brother so he can go to school. But she looses on of them in the ditch and has to get a store keeper to help retrieve it. This makes the bother late for his classes. He gets caught and told not to be late any more. But it does happen once again and he almost has to bring his mother or father to school to explain why he is late, but his teacher covers for him. This daily running to and from school continues for some time, but finally the boy see a way out. The school has a race that the person that places in third will and new pair of shoes. The boy sees this as his way to get some shoes for his sister to replace the ones he lost. He enters the race and his only goal is third place. He is in the lead but towards the end he allows two boys to pass. Then the boy in forth comes up and trips him. He gets up quick and makes it back to the front but and the line he comes in first not third. He is sad instead of being happy for the win, because for him the win was to get third place and get some shoes for his sister. She is initially advised to use medi cation so that she can overcome these evil spirits which seem to be slowly taking control of her. She starts speaking in quire tongues and getting in to a trance where she starts being destructive and her behaviors become shocking. When in the trance, she has a tendency of destroying religious symbols and artifacts, a proof that she is possessed by forces that oppose religion. The whole ordeal begins one night when Emily encounters a strange burning smell which comes from the hall-way in her dorm room. She decides to go and see what is burning and in the process, she notices that the door shuts itself and opens several times. She then goes back to her room and in what seems to be like hallucinations, she sees her jar of pencils move by itself and her bedclothes rolling themselves down. She then experiences a great weight which seems to be pulling her down and at the same time choking her.This prompts her to leave school and go back home. Both her and her parents are now convinced th at she is possessed by demons and the only way that she can be helped is by performing an exorcism on her. The local parish priest, Father Moore, is called to perform the exorcism but unfortunately Emily does not make it out alive. Father Moore is arrested and charged with negligent homicide on Emily’s death. There are good reasons to suppose that Emily is sick and not possessed. After she encounters several more visions after her first, she is hospitalized and after tests, she is diagnosed with epilepsy. She is given medication to counter what is thought to be seizures but the anti-seizure medication is not of help to her. She still encounters her visions and bodily contortions which increase in severity. According to the doctor and the prosecution, Emily’s behaviors can be as a result of psychosis due to the visions that she encounters or epilepsy due to the severe bodily contortions. Another possible argument would be that Emily suffered from schizophrenia and is no t demon possessed. For example, during her exorcism, Emily named 6 demons that had possessed her and this could be a logical base for arguing out that her condition was not spiritual but more of mental illness. The prosecution in the film actually puts up a solid case based on the medical proof that is being suggested.
